Royal Mint coin design marks Prince William engagement
The design for the first Royal engagement coin has been revealed by the Royal Mint. The £5 Alderney coin, inspired by photos of the couple at a sports event, will mark the engagement of Prince William to Kate Middleton. It has been given the seal of approval by Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales.
However, is it just me or are the likenesses not THAT great?!

Kate Middleton copycat designs are warned off
Beware if you are a fasion designer or fasion retailer - using "Catherine/Kate Middleton" in association with any clothing or accessory could land you in hot water with the Royal Family. It could be deemed that you are impingeing on the "Personal Brand" of Kate Middleton, or you could imply that she has endorsed the product.

"You'll work on big day" Queen tells palace staff
With the millions of tourists and holidaymakers who will be floating around the UK at the end of April for the Royal Wedding between prince William and Kate Middleton, it is no surprise that the business-savvy Queen has told Palace staff that they will have to work - when the rest of the country will get a bank holiday! Royal residences will be open for visitors and with massive numbers expected in London, it could be a fantastic money-spinner for the Royals....so poor palace staff will be expected to work (and probably glued to their iphones watching the wedding as it streams!!)

Pubs to open until 1am two days in a row to celebrate Royal Wedding
With a week of celebration for the Royal Wedding, many UK citizens will take a couple of days holiday from work and end up with an 11-day break. Combined with the usual festivities that accompany such a Royal occasion, and Pubs able to stay ipen until 1am two days in a row (without having to demand a licence from the local authority)...it could be a very messy couple of days!

A royal baby for Prince William and Kate Middleton next year?
Apparently the Queen will want an heir from William asap....so no pressure then Kate!
As long as the Queen isn't standing at the end of the bed shouting instructions like a coxswain, I am sure nature will take its course....of course, if this is to be a thoroughly modern marriage, maybe a designer IVF baby? One without Will's bald patch or unfortunate ears?

Kate Middleton - A Mini Biography
As the oldest child of three, Kate Middleton grew up - at least initially - in a family of frequent fliers (I wonder if they can use those old air miles towards the honeymoon?)
Her parents -a flight attendant mother and a flight dispatcher father -began their courtship after meeting through British Airways, but by the time that Kate Middleton was 5, her parents had started a new niche supply business called Party Pieces. In due time, Party Pieces became a million-pound enterprise. This allowed Kate Middleton live a particularly fulfilling childhood, in which she explored sporty hobbies like skiing, running and field hockey, got a taste of school acting by playing Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and became a Girl Guide. Because of her comfortable lifestyle, much of Kate Middleton's formative education came at the pricey Marlborough College, where she was serious-minded, well-behaved, but also - as fate would have it -dreamy and perhaps slightly obsessive about a young Prince called William. I mean, who has posters of royalty on their walls?? Did she not read Smash Hits when she was a teengers, putting up pics of Boyzone and Robbie? No...it seems only a Windsor would do for her walls!

Diana in 3D!
It's what the Daily Express and Daily Mail have been waiting for....a 3D, perfectly interacting Diana Princess of Wales. She will float high above the crowds in Westminster at the Royal Wedding, will duet with Elton, and will probably appear on This Morning and Loose Women within a few weeks, it is reported.
What will the Express and Mail now find to plaster their front pages on slow news days??

Kate's Wedding - A Military Operation
We are only months away from the Royal Wedding and every detail is now being poured over. Pretty soon we will have a "Princess Catherine"...and in the meantime she is planning her wedding with almost military precision. Nelson would be proud.
We have heard that she will stay overnight in London at an undisclosed location (Travelodge perhaps? They have some great deals from just £29 a night) and has decided to travel to the wedding ceremony in a car rather than a horsedrawn carriage, which is being seen as a "major break with tradition". I am not sure how "major" it is but it gets people talking.
The route she will take has also been announced....so get those sleeping bags and gaz stoves ready!
