Middletons face £100k Wedding Bill

Ouch.

"Daddy, I'm going to Marry a Prince"...."Great"....."It's going to cost you £100k"...."Probably worth it, darling...."

Kate parents will pay nearly £100,000 ($163,000, 113,000 euros) for their daughter's wedding to Prince William later this month, a report said.

Hotel suites, bridal gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, the maid of honour's outfit and the honeymoon will all be paid for by Carole and Michael Middleton, The Sunday Times newspaper said, without citing its sources.
They will pay for several suites at the Goring hotel in the upmarket London district of Belgravia, including a two-bedroom, five-room suite for Kate and her sister Pippa, her maid of honour, said the paper.

Carole and Michael and their son James, Kate's brother, will also reportedly take rooms in the hotel, not far from Buckingham Palace, for the April 29 wedding at London's Westminster Abbey.

Carole Middleton and Angelica Houston : Same person?

Anyone ever see them in the same room together? Hmm? No, I thought not.

MOTB chucks toys out of pram!

It was only a matter of time before she lost it.

It is a dilemma shared by every mother of the bride: where to find the perfect outfit for their daughter’s big day.

And with 2.5 billion people watching worldwide, Carole Middleton is understandably determined to look her best when Kate marries Prince William 12 days from now.

But after selecting Lindka Cierach, one of Britain’s leading couturiers, to create her outfit and spending the past four months attending many secret fittings, Kate’s mother has left Ms Cierach stunned by refusing to wear it at the 11th hour.

Mrs Middleton accused Ms Cierach, the London-based couturier best known for making the Duchess of York’s wedding dress, of being ‘unaccommodating’ and dramatically withdrew her business just weeks before the wedding.

Ms Cierach refused to be drawn into discussing the matter, but a fashion source said she is ‘completely bemused after all the hard work she had put into creating the outfit’. The couturier was commissioned soon after the announcement of the Royal engagement and asked to produce an elegant couture creation that would ensure Mrs Middleton cut a dash at Westminster Abbey on April 29.

Pressure grows for Kate's Mother

It is stressful enough at the best of times, being the MOTB (Mother of the bride).

However this MOTB's daughter is marrying into the UK Royal Family, and the Wedding will be seen be millions, potentially billions, across the globe. Those stressful little pre-wedding discussions about "what to wear" must be magnified a thousand-fold.

No surprise then that the Sunday Express reports of "uncharacteristic outburts" and "raised voices" at the family home in Berkshire.

According to the Express:

"The moment you walk in the door you can cut the tension with a knife" reports a regular visitor. "Carole is very on edge and paranoid about putting a foot wrong before April 29. She's been taking on too much. She's not been sleeping well and has been on a strict deit which may explain some of her uncharacteristic mood swings. She seems to have become neurotic about how her family are going to be perceived on the big day."

Builder's daughter Carole has always been the driving force behind the family's success...and displays a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach to life. Fortunately her husband Michael is coping well with the pre-wedding pressure and seems unfazed by the prospect of being on display in front of a worldwide television audience as he becomes Prince William's father-in-law.

"When it all gets too much, with Carole sounding off about some petty detail, Michael calmly reaches for the dog's lead and slips out for a walk in the fields behind their house."

Sensible chap.
