Kate Middleton receives apology from high street chain over posters

Russell and Brromly, the shoe chain, have been given a kick up the backside for exploiting Kate Middleton. The store advertised Kate on posters in store wearing their shoes, without permission, and going against the general rule of thumb that commercial entreprises should not "exploit" her.

Russell & Bromley has apologised for “exploiting” the future princess by putting up pictures of her wearing a pair of brown suede boots that it sells. The firm sent its branches a large print of Kate wearing the ankle boots when she made her first official public visit with her fiancĂ©, to launch a lifeboat in north Wales. The poster went up at outlets including its flagship store in Oxford Street, London, where it was hung in a frame. No one from the company sought permission from Kate or the Prince.

In a way I feel a bit sorry for R&B: Are we seriously suggesting that every commemorative cup, mug, plate, keyring, condom etc has sought permission and obtained it?!
